Overview

The Higher Education Leadership program of University of Wisconsin - Whitewater takes a critical scholar-practitioner approach, helping students to become future leaders in student affairs, academic affairs, intercollegiate athletics, and two-year college leadership. The program prepares students to be equity-minded change agents across colleges and universities. The faculty and instructors of this program each practice leadership in higher education as high-level administrators. 

Classroom experiences are grounded in research and theory that guide organizational leadership, but provide numerous opportunities for practical application. Students who complete this program will have a strong understanding of how to implement policy, apply theory, collaborate across higher education units, and engage in critical equity-minded decision-making processes. In short, students who graduate from this program are equipped to step directly into fast-paced higher education leadership roles.

The program can be completed in 18 months, but can also be extended to 3 years. Classes are flexible in nature, and are offered in an evening format to cater to the needs of working adults. Other requirements

General requirements

A baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution.

At least a 3.00 1overall grade point average in all the graduate work previously completed at UW-Whitewater, with no grades of I or IP pending.

One of the following:

  • At least a 2.75 overall grade point average in the undergraduate degree program.
  • At least a 2.90 grade point average in the last half of the undergraduate degree program.

Any additional requirements set by individual departments or colleges for admission to specific degree programs.

Submit $56 Graduate Application Fee.
