The European Studies Programme addresses professionals working in the field of European Affairs who wish to deepen their knowledge and improve their analytical skills on economic, political and social developments in Europe.

The European Studies programme is interdisciplinary and taught fully in English. It is a one year degree programme where students study part time over two years while staying professionally active, allowing them a chance to relate their working life experiences to academic studies. A major part of the teaching activities will take place within the framework of distance learning over the internet. Some activities will require presence in Gothenburg on ten compulsory occasions.

EMAES aims to sharpen the participants’ ability to critically and strategically handle the complexities of current European challenges. The studies are based on literature, perspectives, and lecturers from various academic disciplines in social sciences, humanities, economics, and law. EMAES is read on half-time basis over a two-year period, most of the studies are online-based, and the teaching is in English. For citizens of the EU/EEA/Switzerland, the program is free of charge.
