Overview
A higher university of applied sciences degree produces the same competency for public offices and tasks as a higher academic degree.
The aim of the management studies is to prepare the students to take charge of a department or unit in a health or social care institution and run service processes. The management studies are free-choice electives and can consist of strategic management, management of people, and financial management. In addition, the students will examine the Finnish guidance and monitoring system used in the field of social sciences and health care.
The purpose of the Health Care and Social Services - Health Promotion Master’s thesis at South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences is to improve the skills necessary in
- research
- project and
- development work.
The topic of the thesis should relate to the research and development projects conducted by the university or private and public sector businesses in Finland or in the student’s native country.
In the thesis, the student should apply existing scientific information and his/her prior research and development skills to the development processes carried out in working life.
These processes will provide the student with material to develop his/her discussion, conclusion making, reporting, and presentation skills.
