The Engineering Management program offered by the Illinois Institute of Technology allows new engineering graduates to explore the possibilities offered by advancing technology through strategic business practices. 

Overview

Seasoned employees who are looking to add a second skillset to their engineering portfolio would also do well in the Engineering Management program offered by the Illinois Institute of Technology. 

It features two specialty tracks—project management or product design and development. Both will provide students with an accelerated pathway to management positions within engineering-based industries.

Details

The Master of Engineering Management requires a minimum of 30 credit hours. Students must take 12 credit hours from the below list of core courses. Students must also take 3 credit hours of a Project-based course with project report. In addition, students must choose one of the following specializations: (a) Project Management, or (b) Product Design & Development. Students are required to take 9 credit hours in their chosen specialization. The remaining 9 credit hours are electives and may be selected from the below list of elective courses.

GRE admission requirements GRE® The GRE® General Test is a widely administered admissions test that measures the skills needed in today's graduate and business school programs worldwide. It contains three sections - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.

General requirements

  • Illinois Tech requires a four-year bachelor’s degree conferred with a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0/4.0 (or its equivalent) from an accredited institution for regular admission.

  • Academic requirements: GPA of at least 3.0.
  • GMAT or GRE is required: GRE/GMAT is required, apart from Master of Public Administration.
