The Global Health Care (Learning and Teaching) program from Flinders University aims to advance knowledge and skills for health professions education.

On  Global Health Care (Learning and Teaching) program from Flinders University, there are two core learning and teaching topics in this specialisation. One focuses on enhancing the learners’ experiences through teaching approaches to engage individual learners in a variety of education settings including university and the workplace. The other focuses on planning learning, and the educator’s role in curriculum design, implementation and assessment of learning in a variety of education settings.


Graduates are suitable for careers in a wide range of international health care settings including developing policy for practice, the teaching and learning environment, hospital administration and quality process in Australia and overseas and international strategies and programs in health care. Potential employers include public and private health care services including both acute and community-based providers.

English requirements

TOEFL admission requirements TOEFL® IBT The TOEFL iBT® is given online through the internet at designated testing site. The test measures your English-language abilities in an academic setting. IELTS admission requirements IELTS The International English Language Test System (IELTS) tests your English-language proficiency on a scale of 1 – 9. The score refers to the combined average score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading).
PTE Academic admission requirements PTE Academic PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. The score refers to a total score which ranges between 10 and 90.

  • Applicants must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification in a health profession from an approved tertiary institution.
  • However, the Dean (Education) may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions, admit others who can show evidence of fitness for candidature.
