
Overview
The Acute Care Nursing program from Flinders University aims to facilitate the development of specialised knowledge and skills to enable application and critical analysis of concepts and theories relating to the recognition, response and management and care of the acute, complex and/or critically ill deteriorating patient in a range of acute health care settings. You will study with fellow domestic students undertaking other acute care nursing specialisations.

Graduates are suitable for careers in a wide range of nursing-related fields. Our courses will give registered nurses the opportunity to provide skilful care to individuals, families and communities to prevent illness, promote healthy lifestyles and manage a range of emerging complex health issues.
Applicants must provide a supporting statement nominating their area of clinical preference in acute care nursing for university sourced observational professional experience placement. Areas of clinical preference include:
- cardiac
- critical care
- emergency
- high dependency
- mental health
- paediatrics.
