About

The professional Master’s programme Social Work with Children and Youth from Riga Stradins University is aimed at the acquisition of in-depth knowledge in social work with children and youth, ensuring innovative professional development opportunities and preparing for scientific and pedagogical work in the field of social work or for future studies at the doctoral level.

Overview

One of the strengths of the Social Work with Children and Youth from Riga Stradins University programme is the encouragement from the teachers to think globally, care about social development and social justice, explore multicultural aspects and undertake comparative social policy studies related to youth.

Successful learning requires from the students ability to carry out a significant amount of independent research and study work, balanced by active participation during intensive in-class seminars in Vilnius and Riga and in e-study formats.

Our programme is targeted at students with previous education in economics, business management or management science and also with the professional qualification and/or experience in business management.

Careers

Following graduation there are a number of job options not only in Latvia and Lithuania but in other countries as well - working with children and youth in a multicultural environment, as well as in refugee and asylum seeker centres.
