It is required for many supervisory and managerial positions in public health and is recommended for many others. Many courses and educational activities are available to qualified students across all disciplines. Students are encouraged to diversify their curricula by selecting among these opportunities.
The majority of full-time students take approximately 18 to 24 months to complete the degree. Requirements of the MPH are: completion of a minimum of 45 semester credit hours of required coursework; a planned, supervised and evaluated practice experience and a culminating experience demonstrating a substantial knowledge of public health.
The MPH program in Biostatistics is designed to prepare individuals for positions that require a broad knowledge of public health as well as specialized knowledge of biostatistics. In particular, the student will have the opportunity to learn applied biostatistical analysis, statistical theory, study design, data management, and ethics of research.

The GRE® General Test is a widely administered admissions test that measures the skills needed in today's graduate and business school programs worldwide. The GRE® General Test contains three sections - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.
