Then the Forensic Criminology MSc programme at Leiden University is right for you. Also if you have a bachelor’s degree in a social science field like Psychology.
Students choose this master's degree because they have an affinity with crime and its analysis and evidence. You can help improve investigation and investigation methods. Criminologists (lawyers and non-lawyers!) Are employed by, among others, the police, NFI, consultancy and research agencies and the business community.

Programme Structure
In the master's degree you have to deal with different forms of education:
- Lectures and working groups in which motivated teachers present the subject matter and connect it with current events and their own research. You are expected to prepare these lectures by studying the specified literature.
- Thesis. You conduct a research independently for your thesis and you state this in a scientific argument.

General requirements
- In order to be considered, you should possess (before the start of the programme) a Bachelor's degree in Criminology (BSc) or a bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B) or another discipline related to criminology and criminal justice from a recognised research university. Generally, social science degrees (e.g., international relations, sociology) are considered relevant, if the applicant can demonstrate an interest in criminal justice.
