Students of the Athletic Training program of Midland University will have hands-on training in a variety of team and individual sports, allowing diverse and comprehensive educational and clinical experiences.

Overview

At Midland University we believe sports help students learn lasting life lessons and build character. With 32 varsity sports in the NAIA, Midland is home to the largest athletic department in Nebraska and over 800 student athletes.

With a smaller school experience, Master of Athletic Training students will have access to various interprofessional opportunities with our growing Human Performance and Nursing programs. Midland’s recently opened Simulation Lab allows students hands-on experience with mannequins exhibiting a variety of conditions, and the renovated dedicated Athletic Training space provides a home for athletic training development.

Program Outcomes

At the completion of the Athletic Training program of Midland University, students are:

  • Prepared to take and pass the Board of Certification (BOC) exam
  • Clinically proficient at the level defined by CAATE
  • Competent to provide athletic training services in a wide variety of professional settings with diverse patient populations
  • Able to synthesize information, make decisions, and act in ways that maximize patient outcomes
  • Exhibiting behaviors consistent with those of athletic training professionals
