The Master of Arts in Fine Arts programme is offered at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg

The outcome of the degree is an original body of artistic work and a written research report, which is to meet the requirements of the University and standards of academic rigour expected from Masters level course. Students are encouraged to interrogate the relation and possibilities between practical and written components relevant to their projects.

Programme Structure

At the WSOA, you will have access to a wide range of specialised teaching environments, including theatres, music venues, sound recording studios, fine arts studios, digital media laboratories, television studios and multimedia libraries.You may also have the opportunity to participate in the increasing number of international exchange programmes attracted to the School by its excellent reputation

A bachelors degree with honours from Wits or another university with a 65% total mark aggregate.A supervisor from the Faculty of Humanities must be identified and approached prior to application.
