The Sport Business, Management and Policy programme at the Manchester Metropolitan University is one of only a few management programmes taught by a UK institution which focuses solely on sports.

With content that’s grounded in the real world of sport, you will benefit from the experience of some of the sectors biggest brands, including Sport England and FIFA. Over the course of the programme, leading academics will help you to develop the expertise that sports organisations require - from sport policy and sports marketing to data analytics. Unlike other courses in the country, you will also explore areas such as politics, finance and law to understand how they apply to the sports industry and give you the confidence you need to take your career to the next level.

  • Minimum required score (Grade C):

    C1 Advanced is a Cambridge English Qualification. It reports on the Cambridge English Scale between 142 and 210. You will receive a separate score for each of the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) and for Use of English. These five scores are averaged to give you an overall result for the exam. Universities and colleges may ask you to achieve a specific score, either overall or for a particular skill.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: Lower Second Class

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Lower Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

  • A good UK honours degree (minimum 2:2) or an international equivalent in a related subject
  • Proven significant professional experience (3 years or more) and/or qualifications in a relevant field.

Funding

We are currently offering thirty scholarships for high-quality individual applicants, which will take the form of an annual discount on the standard fee. The scholarship is of the value of £1000 p.a. for full-time students, and £500 p.a. for part-time students, and in each case is payable for the duration of the course. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and cannot be guaranteed.
