The program offers apprenticeships and traineeships in regional and national establishments - opera houses, orchestras, music houses, chamber groups, schools, television, media, etc.


The program offers specialized training in the areas of classical singing, classical instrument, musical pedagogy, contemporary Bulgarian music, acting, improvisation, and conducting. The program has the following specializations:

  • Classical music - singing
  • Classical music - instrument
  • Pop and jazz music - singing
  • Pop and Jazz Music - instrument
Competencies on completion of the program: The program is practical. Graduates students have acquired knowledge and skills: 
  • In the field of musicology and music education, music theory and history, conducting and composition; 
  • In the instrumental and vocal interpretations of music and performing arts in the classical genre
  • For teaching in special educational institutions (music schools, colleges, folk arts, dance schools, etc..) 
Graduates can work in orchestras, operas, theaters, media, TV, schools; can deal with the administration of the musical processes such as performers, accompanists, school teachers and other areas that related to their obtained professional qualifications.

GMAT admission requirements GMAT The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a test intended to assess certain analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for use in admission to a graduate management program, such as an MBA. GMAT contains 4 sections - Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative and Verbal. The score has a range from 200 - 800.

English requirements

IELTS admission requirements IELTS The International English Language Test System (IELTS) tests your English-language proficiency on a scale of 1 – 9. The score refers to the combined average score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading).
TOEFL admission requirements TOEFL® IBT The TOEFL iBT® is given online through the internet at desiganated testing site. The test measures your English-language abilities in an academic setting. The score refers to the total score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading), each subject has a range of 0 - 30.
PTE Academic admission requirements PTE Academic PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. The score refers to a total score which ranges between 10 and 90.

  • Complete the online application 
  • Write a Word-processed admission essay of no fewer than 4 standard pages (1,800 characters with spaces per page) in Bulgarian or English on one of the topics (usually three) announced by the NBU department of your choice
  • Submit the completed application form, the essay and the documents listed on the last page of the application form to the International Relations Office, Building 1, main lobby, 1-st floor
  • Register for the specialized admission examination, if such examination is required by the program of your choice at New Bulgarian University
