Overview
The second year of the Applied Biochemistry course at University of Madeira includes the development of a project (predominantly laboratory, carried out in a research or business environment) that enables the student to develop his/her knowledge, skills and competences in one of the more specific application areas of Biochemistry - according to their areas of interest.
The Master's Degree in Applied Biochemistry has the support, in terms of human and physical resources, of the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Engineering, Faculty of Life Sciences and CQM - Centro de Química da Madeira (Chemistry Center of Madeira, a research center belonging to the National Network of R&D units funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology).
Career
Graduates of this course may exercise functions: in higher education institutions, institutes and research centers; In companies and industries - in the areas of Biotechnology, Environment, Food and Pharmaceuticals; In laboratories of chemical, biochemical, microbiological analysis; in scientific journalism, in public and regulatory agencies commissions.
