About

You will study financial institutions, the role of the non-deposit financial institutions, corporate strategic investment decisions, techniques of asset and firm valuation and the nature and use of complex financial instruments.

This Global Finance and Investment MSc programme from De Montfort University is ideal for students who wish to pursue careers in investment, finance management and financial analysis or to pursue further studies in finance.

Most students will take part in a placement or internship as part of the Executive Company Project module, although the option of a traditional dissertation is available.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: Lower Second Class

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Lower Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

  • Applicants will normally hold an undergraduate degree in an accounting, finance, banking or economics-related subject with a minimum pass of 2:2, or equivalent overseas qualification. Professional qualifications deemed to be of equivalent standing will be considered on an individual basis.

De Montfort University (DMU) have a range of scholarships and discounts available for courses starting in September.

  • DMU International Scholarship - A limited number of DMU International Scholarships are available on a first-come, first served basis upon receipt of a £3,000 tuition fee deposit.
  • Leicester Castle Business School Scholarships - Principal's Scholarship - £1,000; Global MBA Scholarship - £3,000 - £5,000.
  • LGBTQ + Allies Scholarship - Two fully funded postgraduate taught scholarship packages including full fee waiver and maintenance bursary.
