Key Features
Students aiming to further their academic studies towards a PhD degree in the history of the Ottoman Empire, the Balkans or the Middle East, are strongly encouraged to select the MA History program from Sabanci University with thesis.
Within the framework of the MA Thesis course, they are expected to research and write an MA thesis of around 80 pages on a previously submitted and approved topic.
Any student who has successfully completed his/her coursework within the usual four semesters, but who needs additional thesis completion time, may, be granted a maximum of two more semesters for this purpose.Programme Structure

General requirements
- Admitted candidates are expected to have completed their undergraduate degrees by the time of registration for the graduate program.
- Applications by international applicants studying abroad are valid only after the approval and recognition of the last graduated higher education institution and the course of study by the Turkish Higher Education Council.
- The necessary enquiry is made by the University. Turkish candidates graduated from a higher institution abroad should submit a certificate of equivalence by the Turkish Higher Education Council. Equivalency certificate must be submitted during the enrollment at the University.
- Providing an English proficiency exam score is not mandatory.
