Our wide range of nursing courses give students the opportunity to specialise in different areas of interest. We also have our own Institute of Research in Nursing that keeps our thinking at the forefront of research.

Programme Structure

The MSc Nursing top-up course involves one module which is Dissertation. We will give you the support you need to complete your dissertation while you work in the field. You will cover the whole research process, from ethics approval to writing your final report, with the guidance of an allocated supervisor. By the end of the course you will have investigated a topic important to your work place at a higher level.

The project you will complete will be one of the following:

-An independent piece of research

-A work-based project

-Systematic literature review

-Audit or service development

English Language Requirements

This programme may require students to demonstrate proficiency in English.

General Requirements

You must have completed a PGDip in Nursing (pre-qualifying) with NMC registration.  You should have 120 credits at level 6 and 7, where 90 credits are from level 7. Additionally, you must be currently employed within clinical practice.

If you did not study for your PGDip at Bucks New University, you will need to show evidence of successful completion of a level 7 research module.
