It is a two-year course offered by the Faculty of Education in association with the Department of Mathematics. 

The  Mathematics Education programme at The Chinese University of Hong Kong takes full advantage of collaboration between two academic units on the same campus, and targets potential and practising mathematics teachers in Hong Kong primary and secondary schools. 


Its aim is to upgrade programme participants’ subject content knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge. It is particularly designed to meet the needs of those with an interest in both mathematics and the teaching profession who wish to pursue further studies.

  • Applicants who obtained degrees from universities in Mainland China are required to provide an Online Verification Report of Higher Education Qualification Certificate 
  • Copies of certificates of academic qualifications
  • Documents showing the applicant has fulfilled the Graduate School’s English language proficiency requirement
  • Copy of identity card or passport
  • Applicants with degrees awarded by overseas universities through distance learning or completing a curriculum of short duration may be required to provide relevant assessment reports from the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) on the level of qualification obtained.
