As a Keuka College Master of Social Work student, you’ll build upon the generalist foundation garnered from your undergraduate experience with a more in-depth, analytical understanding of human behavior, theory, policy and diversity. As a result, you will be prepared with the knowledge and skills to effectively engage in clinical practice and leadership roles.

Our clinically focused master of social work program is designed to prepare you with the knowledge and skills to provide effective, advanced psychotherapy and psychosocial services to clients at an individual, family, and group level.

With an MSW, you’re qualified to act in an administrative and supervisory capacity, and to serve as a leader in dynamic communities and organizations. Your elective courses and field work placement will prepare you to work within systems such as the Veteran’s Administration, health care settings, prison systems, schools, and community agencies.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 3

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor’s in social work degree from an accredited CSWE institution
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Have a B+ or better in all undergraduate social work courses.
  • Have a C or better in writing, statistics, and human biology courses.
  • Demonstrate an appropriate combination of maturity, experience and motivation.
