Overview
Graduates in the Health Services Research and Policy program at the University of Pittsburgh will be prepared to conduct research on policy issues affecting the organization, financing, and delivery of health care and public health services.
The field of public health is constantly evolving in response to the needs of communities and populations around the world. The underlying mission of public health is to improve the conditions and behaviors that affect health so that all people can attain it.
That mission includes not only the practice of public health policy, but the research of public health issues and the education of future leaders who eventually will translate that research into practices and policies to improve the health of people regionally, nationally, and globally.

- Please note, SOPHAS submits applications to Pitt Public Health only after all required materials are received. Applicants who have submitted applications may track their status online.
- In addition, all applicants are required to submit both the general statement and objectives requested in the application and may submit an optional writing sample. Interviews are typically required as part of the application review process.
