The two-year MSc programme in Sustainable Tropical Forestry (SUTROFOR in short) at University of Copenhagen gives you the best instruction in the field of tropical forestry in Europe. You work with the growing challenges in contemporary tropical forestry in a global context, and you aquire valuable real-life experience by doing field work in a tropical country.

Overview

During the programme degree in Sustainable Tropical Forestry (SUTROFOR) at University of Copenhagen  you acquire international experience and intercultural understanding that make you capable of working with tropical forestry in countries and cultures all over the world.

SUTROFOR is an Erasmus Mundus-programme with special rules for admission and application.

The topic of sustainable tropical forestry is of global importance. Between one and two billion people depend on wood-based fuel; non-wood forest products and services are crucial to the livelihood of more than one billion poor people mainly in rural areas; timber is an important commodity for both the domestic economy and for export; and the citizens in developing countries are increasingly concerned with the fate of tropical forests. The potential for trees and forests to contribute to the sustainable development in tropical and subtropical countries is increasingly recognised and included in poverty alleviation strategies.
