The Marlboro MATESOL program is for those who want to do more than teach English to speakers of other languages.  It is for those who are curious and innovative, who are passionate about what they do, and who want to teach with intention, mindfulness and courage.

About

Our graduates teach in adult learning centers, community colleges, private language schools and intensive English programs at colleges or universities around the world. The degree also provides materials developers and administrators with a foundation in the learning and teaching of English as well as in language instruction design.

The program runs over 15 months. Students complete two eight-week summer terms on site in Marlboro, Vermont. In the interim academic year, they engage in a teaching practicum, either in their own classroom or through another placement, supported by master teacher supervision and rigorous reflective practice.

KEY FEATURES
  • Two eight-week summer intensives in Marlboro, Vermont.

  • Students are housed independently in Brattleboro, Vermont. A housing assistance service is available for a small fee. For more information contact Graduate Admissions.
