Developing people with the right approach can be difficult - particularly the combination of creative and technical thinking but it is the intention of this programme to inspire such people.
This MDes four-year degree is for people who are fascinated by the processes of visualising, creating and building film environments and sets; it is for people who want to design and make those environments and for those students who would like to develop their practice into the commercial world.
The programme concerns itself with turning narrative and screenplay ideas into film sets, through carefully planned practical modules and studying how creative enterprise works.
The MDes gives the student an additional year of study at postgraduate level that can be funded through the student loan, resulting in the award of an MDes upon successful completion.
This degree is for students who can develop and harness creative and logical thinking. This is fundamental to perform many of the cross-disciplinary functions needed as a set designer in the creative media industry.
We need passionate individuals with an interest in contemporary culture; people that want to become set designers. This degree is your creative playground and becoming a set designer in one of the only thriving and pivotal industries of your extraordinarily progressive era means that, through film and TV, you will play a central role in social and cultural enhancement worldwide.
