This unique Informatics programme from University of Boras is for those who want to accept the challenges for the library and information science and who finds the area of education tangible and exciting.

Do you want to shape the future of IT? Do you want an exciting and fulfilling career that influences, directs and supports the global IT industry? If so you need the solid educational background that makes this a reality.

Who are you?

You will work with cross-disciplinary collaborations that provide new opportunities to develop relevance to the profession.

The programme

The overall goal is for you to acquire deeper knowledge and more advanced skills in IT, specifically the ability to handle complex problems related to software  development and IT-use, in a systematic and scientific way.

The Informatics programme from University of Boras focuses on Data-Driven IT Management, the driving force for the IT of the future. Data-Driven IT Management aims at harvesting the business value of the enormous amount of largely unused data available to companies.

After your studies

There is a high demand for experts in DataDriven IT and the number of available experts is very low. The programme therefore provides students with excellent opportunities to get access to top-level jobs such as IT consultant, Head of IT, IT Project Manager, Business Analyst, System Developer, Data Analyst and Data Scientist.

The Swedish School of Library an Information Science (SSLIS) is one of a kind in Sweden. Within Library and Information Science, our research, programmes and courses are the most extensive in the country. They are all developed in close interaction with the global society around us. The idea behind our work is that work practices and scientific approaches are two interwoven perspectives that enrich each other, just as research and education do.
