About

Those with a passion for working with young children are encouraged to pursue a Master of Science in Child Development. Students increase their understanding of the physical, intellectual, and emotional development of children, while developing capabilities to assume leadership roles in all phases of the child development field.

Overview

Each course in the program is offered both on campus (in face-to-face format) and online. Both delivery modes are identical in content and rigor and are offered on the semester schedule. Students enrolled in the program have the option of taking face-to-face courses, online courses, or a combination of the two.

The program emphasizes understanding the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development of children. The program culminates with a capstone research project.

General requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Letters of recommendation attesting to academic/professional competency.
  • Demonstrated ability to write at an acceptable level for graduate study.
  • Completed application with non-refundable application fee. Fees submitted from outside the United States must be in international money orders written in US dollars (please ensure the applicant’s name is included on the money order).
  • Statement of Purpose: Provide approximately a 200 word essay outlining goals for graduate study.
