The Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Curriculum and Instruction at City University of Seattle was designed with utmost flexibility for today’s networked teaching professional. You’ll learn current, research-based methodologies so you can increase student learning and improve classroom practices.


The program teaches best practices for personal learning and evaluation, multicultural perspectives, globalized learning, family and community engagement, and individualized instruction.

Demonstrate mastery of specified learning outcomes (often using your own classroom as a basis for learning) and receive credit toward your degree. When you finish each block, an outcomes evaluator will use detailed rubrics to review your artifacts and provide feedback.

Programme Structure

For the Capstone project, candidates complete a full Action Research Cycle in which candidates integrate research-based process, methodology, and evidence-based decision making into their own professional practice.  The focus is on validity and alignment of theoretical foundations with intervention and assessment methodologies.  Emphasis is placed on the inclusion of: a research proposal; problem statement; rationale; objectives and/or hypothesis; review of literature; implementation strategies; data collection; findings; measurement of change and conclusion.  Candidates demonstrate their ability to meet standards set for knowledge, skills and performance in a professional workforce setting.

  • Hold a baccalaureate degree or equivalent from an accredited or otherwise recognized institution
  • Complete an online application
  • If you cannot complete the online application, then you may send a physical application form by mail to Admissions at City University of Seattle 521 Wall Street, Suite 100, Seattle, WA 98121. Both applications include a $50.00 application fee.
  • After your application is processed, you must obtain and send all your transcripts from other institutions to CityU.
