The School Counseling Program offers a Masters of Education Degree in School Counseling. It is a graduate level program comprised of 48 credit hours. The program is approved by both the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) and Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE).   

About

Graduates of the program receive a Master’s of Education in School Counseling upon successful completion of coursework, comprehensive exam, and 700 hours of field work through practicum and internship.

              Academic Requirements

              You need the following GPA score:

              Required score: 2.5

              Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.5 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

              Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

              • Complete the online application, with appropriate fee in U.S. dollars ($40 for master’s degree programs, $50 for the doctoral programs).
              • Meet the immigration requirements for an F-1 visa. Applicants must be cleared by the International Student Advisor before an I-20 will be mailed.
              • Submit official transcript(s).
              • Submit applicable test scores for the program of interest.
              • Submit sufficient documentary evidence that the applicant will be financially supported throughout his/her studies in the United States.
