Overview

This one-year, full-time Professional LLM in International Business Law from York University  is designed to give lawyers and professionals from around the world advanced training in international business law. Award-winning faculty teach the latest developments in international trade law, international finance, international business transactions, taxation of cross-border transactions and other related topics. The specialization provides students with knowledge in critical, core international business law courses while allowing you the opportunity to pursue your academic interests through electives.

Who is this Specialization for?

  • Law graduates, preferably with legal practice experience, related work experience or a demonstrated interest in international business law.
  • Professionals without a law degree who have at least five years of work experience related to international business law, such as contract management, trade, negotiation, regulation, or governance.

Specialization Structure

The International Business Law specialization is a 1 year (three terms) full-time program.  All courses require in-person attendance and are scheduled in a variety of formats (daytime, evening, weekend and intensive) across both Osgoode Hall and OsgoodePD campuses. Students can complete their degree requirements exclusively through course work or through a combination of course work and a Major Research Paper. Elective courses can be drawn from Osgoode Hall’s JD specialization and from other OsgoodePD LLM specializations (subject to space availability).
