The studies have a multidisciplinary approach that combines emerging technologies, content creation, design thinking and artistic practices with sustainable problem-solving of societal challenges.

In the professional studies, you will experiment emerging media and various design approaches. You will explore how art and content creation are related to new technologies, such as extended reality (XR), machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI). Furthermore, sustainable value creation addressing societal challenges and creative customer development methods are studied.

For your Master’s degree, you will be engaged in active, self-directed learning required for taking over new technologies and application fields. This is supported by personal coaching as the principal teaching method. The studies are organised mainly online, with four intensive co-creation workshop weeks.

The Emerging Mediaprogramme at Tampere University of Applied Sciences prepares media professionals, artists, musicians and designers to explore the vast opportunities that new media technologies offer in the creative field. The programme nurtures entrepreneurial attitude, co-creation and maker culture while exploring “the art of possible”: what can be done at the moment.

Career opportunities

The occupational profiles of graduates are diverse depending on their prior professional experience and personal achievements during the studies. The graduates will qualify for leading and performing demanding tasks in the area of art, media and innovation both in creative industries and other industry sectors.
