The dual MSW/MBA program enables students to expand the scope of their studies and simultaneously pursue Master of Social Work and Master of Business Administration degrees. 

About

The degree option instills students with superior social work practice, leadership and business skills, further demonstrating Aurora University’s commitment to serve the greater good.

Students will receive substantial business education that compliments their social work education and will prepare them for leadership roles in social service. By combining social work skills with core business knowledge, students will be ready to serve the greater good out in the community.

The foundation of the MSW/MBA dual degree program is the MSW curriculum. Students who complete the MSW leadership concentration, which is composed of a prescribed set of three MBA courses totaling nine credit hours, may apply those hours to their MBA studies as well. In addition, three credit hours obtained from MSW course Research 1: Methodology may be applied to the MBA, fulfilling the requirement for Applied Business Research.

    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00. Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 2.75

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.75 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

  • A completed Graduate Application for Admission.
  • Transcripts (official, sealed in envelope) from all prior undergraduate and graduate colleges and/or universities. Aurora University accepts official electronic transcripts 
  • A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with an average GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. Students with a GPA of less than 2.75 will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Undergraduate curriculum must include three semester hours in statistics, research and physical assessment.
  • Two letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with your professional or academic abilities.
