Overview
Course Delivery
The part-time offering is delivered one day per week over two academic years. Semester two of year two will comprise a supervised research dissertation. The research topic may be work-place based.
The full-time programme at Institute of Technology Carlow is delivered on the basis of two full contact days per week over a one year period.
What will I be able to do when I finish this programme?
Graduates of the Strength and Conditioning programme will be eligible to apply for membership to the Irish Institute of Sport (IIS), the United Kingdom Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) based in the United States of America. It is anticipated that students will apply for these independent professional accreditations and will be suitably prepared to meet the stringent competencies of each. In addition, programme graduates will have developed and honed the advanced skills required of an applied strength and conditioning practitioner and they can implement these skills in their respective fields.

General requirements
A Level 8 degree with a minimum Second Class Honours Grade 2, in a relevant field of study. Candidates who do not meet the requirements but have relevant professional experience are also invited to apply as each application is considered on a case-by-case basis.
