You will be trained in methods of research and in advanced academic writing.

The programme consists of core modules and electives taught by field specialists through a combination of seminars and written assignments.

English Language

The English language and linguistics specialisation is oriented towards empirical research in, for example, corpus linguistics, sociolinguistics, and English as a foreign language.

English Literature

The English Literature specialisation focuses on historical and theoretical transitions in English literature from Shakespeare to postmodernism and beyond, including gendered and postcolonial critiques.

American Literature and Culture

The main focus of the American literature specialisation lies on changes in literary concerns, thematic as well as aesthetic, from the American renaissance to the post-postmodern.
