Overview

Taken full-time over one calendar year the Masters in Business Studies in Retail Management programme offered by Dublin Institute Of Technology involves lectures, presentations and seminars on a range of management issues focussed on retailing and on the industry`s leading-edge technology for category management, electronic data interchange and store location decisions.

The programme engages the student in a critical examination of a range of retail issues and specialisms in addition to a focussed review of several critical boardroom-level topics involving broad strategic questions of business policy and direction.

The MBS is offered in Full-time mode as well as the existing Part-time version over two years. In both modes, students take thirteen modules some of which are electives.

General requirements

In general, applicants are required to have an honours bachelor degree (minimum 2.2) in a business or cognate area or an equivalent professional business qualification, by examination, such as in Accountancy, Marketing, etc. Entrants are assumed to have an honours degree level of familiarity with business disciplines such as economics, accounting, finance, management, marketing and law so it is not really suitable for graduates who have taken primary degrees in arts or science or engineering.The programme is conducted in English so a strong working knowldedge of English(Minimum 6.5 IELTS or equivalent) is required.
