Overview
The Electrical and Electronic Engineering program from BRAC University provides an education based on excellent teaching and cutting-edge research to qualify students as leaders in both industrial and academic environments. It is distinguished by an extensive set of courses in three major disciplines within electrical and electronic engineering fields, Electronics, Communication, and Power and Control Systems. Students can choose courses from a particular discipline in consultation with the Graduate Program Coordinator or their thesis supervisor to work out an area of concentration that will guarantee a sound analytical strength in their area of specialization.
In addition to the concentration courses, students will also need to choose a set of courses from other disciplines to broaden their knowledge base as per their educational plan that will meet their career goals and objectives.
In the thesis work, students will carry out an original research work, preferably on a topic within their academic track, under direct supervision of a faculty member. The objectives of the Program are supported by Control & Applications Research Center, Energy Research Group, an under-construction R&D Laboratory, to be equipped with high configuration PCs and a world-class faculty with ongoing research in a broad set of disciplines.
Program Learning Outcomes
Students upon successful completion of the program will be able to:
- Identify, formulate, analyze and solve complex engineering problems in Electronics/Communication/Power System area using advanced engineering principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Design reliable systems, devices, components or processes in Electronics/Communication/Power System area that meets the design specifications and requirements under certain constraints.
- Recognize the need and ability in engaging in lifelong continual learning, thereby, contributing to their own professional development and growth.
- Solve real-world problems with in-depth and up-to-date knowledge and relevant skills required by the industry by applying modern tools and techniques in Electronics/Communication/Power System area.
- Communicate effectively about the engineering and related issues to the team members as well as to the broader audience.
- Carry out systematic and in-depth research in highly demanding contemporary issues, provide new solutions to unsolved problems, or a better solution to existing ones, and address unforeseen problems using the discipline specific knowledge, tools and techniques in an innovative way, and in the process, contribute to the creation and dissemination of knowledge by publishing research/technical papers.
