Program Options

This dynamic, two year part-time program at Utah Valley University offers required courses in the areas of cybersecurity operations, law, ethics, and privacy in Cybersecurity, penetration testing and vulnerability assessment, advanced network defense and countermeasures, and cybersecurity management.

The program offers elective tracks in advanced network forensics, reverse engineering and malware analysis, secure coding, and web and mobile application security.

General requirements

  • Schedule an appointment to meet with MSC Admissions staff to review admissions requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree with a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale from an accredited institution in one of the following fields: 1) Information Systems, 2) Information Security, 3) Information Technology, or 4) Computer Science. 
  • Complete the online application, which includes uploading responses for one essay question.
  • Provide two letters of recommendation. Name and email address of professional references will be entered in the application.
  • Send all official university transcripts. If requesting electronic copy from your university, official transcripts must be emailed to etranscriptr@uvu.edu.
  • Upload current resume that includes educational background and professional work experience.
  • Pay $45 application fee. (We are currently unable to accept international applications).
