 Master of Science (Agronomy) by mixed-mode 

The core courses of this programme cover current issues in Agronomy, Plant Ecophysiology and Soil and Plant Nutrition. 

The final component of the programme is a research project on an approved topic relevant to the focus of the programme. This Master of Agronomy programme isoffered at the Universiti Teknologi Mara

 The programme will provide students with broad fundamentals in soil plant atmosphere continuum (SPAC) components covering crop ecophysiology, soil and plant nutrition, and plant breeding and crop improvement. Apart from agronomic essential knowledge, the students will also be prepared to undertake research through research methodology course and at the same time they will be exposed to the current issues plaguing the industries. 

All these taught courses represent thirty percent of the program requirement while another seventy percent will constitute a full time research in a well defined area of study from a variety of specialization options within SPAC components. The research component can be extended as necessary.

The programme is holistic, emphasizing the application of plant and soil science to crop production and aimed at producing graduates and working professionals that can take agronomic challenges threaten the food security and quality, resource constraints and environmental stewardship.

Candidates applying for this course should fulfill the following qualifications:A Bachelor’s degree in the field of agriculture and plantation technology management or its equivalent from related disciplines with minimum CGPA at least 3.00.

  • a. Minimum entry pass at least STPM or its equivalent with a CGPA of 2.0 (A-Level / STAM / Foundation / Matriculation / equivalent certificates recognized in the relevant field)
  • b. At least 30 years of age (in the year of application)
  • c. At least ten (10) years working experience in the related field
