The professional study programme of “Railway Transport” at Riga Technical University is implemented in three directions. The Institute of Railway Transport implements the studies at the programme. 


The aim of the Railway Transport programme from Riga Technical University is to prepare specialists in the field of railway transport on the international level and for implementation of research work.

General requirements

  • Professional Bachelor Degree and/or 5th Level Professional Qualification in Railway Transport (1,5 years).
  • Bachelor Degree of Engineering Science in Mechanical Engineering (3 years). Education documents must be accompanied by English translations of all certificates and transcripts along with approval of the documents authenticity;
  • Students applying for master programmes will be asked to record a video interview.
