The executive nurse leadership master's degree option prepares nurses to be leaders in health care and in health system settings. Graduates will be prepared to lead as nurse executives at organizational and systems levels. 

Overview

 The focus of the concentration is on improving health outcomes for patients and populations through the leadership of effective, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered health care delivery models using ethical and relation-based business practices. Students will take courses in both the School of Nursing and School of Business Administration.

Graduates wishing to obtain a master of business administration after completing the program will be able to transfer the 9 business credits completed in the concentration toward the MBA and will be prepared to become certified in executive nursing practice through the American Organization of Nurse Executives after 2 years of executive nurse experience.

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).
