The Master's Specialization in Exercise Science is designed for those students who are interested in an in-depth study of the effects of exercise on human physiology, how it relates to cardiovascular health and disease, neuromuscular activation and cell development.

About

A Master of Science degree in Exercise Science specializes in the areas of human performance, strength and conditioning, clinical exercise physiology. The faculty members are engaged in studies dealing with both basic and applied aspects of human performance. There are two track options for the degree in Exercise science. The Applied track requires the student to apply for a 6-hr credit Internship in the exercise science related field where the student must pass the ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist) Certification Exam for degree completion. The research track requires the student to complete a thesis and submit it to a peer-reviewed journal for degree completion.

The Exercise Science Graduate program curriculum is endorsed by NSCA Education Recognition Program (ERP). As a graduate student at UWF we expect students to get the nationally recognized certifications related to the field (National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). With those certifications students increase their chance of getting hired by 75% compared to students that do not have the above certifications.
