This Human Resources and Consulting programme at Lancaster University provides a unique combination of HR, management development and consulting, enabling careers in HR, management consultancy, management and organisational development.

About

Taking a critical perspective, our dual focus on theory and practice is designed to enrich both your knowledge and your skills to act as a change agent – designing and implementing interventions that develop human resources in pursuit of organisational objectives.

With a primary focus on interactive learning, a unique feature of this Human Resources and Consulting programme at Lancaster University is the consulting project where you put your learning into practice by working with a real client organisation to develop recommendations on current HR workplace issues.

Alongside the modules listed in the course structure tab,  there is also a Careers and Learning Development element, which provides interactive group sessions over Michaelmas and Lent terms that will equip you with skills to make the most of your learning, study and careers opportunities.

Accreditation

The programme is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). Upon successful completion students can gain Associate (Assoc CIPD) level of professional membership of the CIPD.

    PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. Delivered and marked by computer, it reports on a scale between 10 and 90.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: Upper Second Class

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Upper Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

Designed for: Graduates who want to work as HRD professionals, management developers and educators, change agents and consultants. Relevant work experience is beneficial but not essential. 

Entry requirements: 2:1 (UK hons) degree or equivalent in any subject.
