Master of Global Public Policy is an inventive new degree program offered jointly by the University of Southern California's Sol Price School of Public Policy and the University of Hong Kong addresses the global demand for training and education to shape future leaders capable of identifying key resources.

About

Creating solutions to complex problems, and managing unprecedented change and cultivate their skills in public policymaking, greater political acumen, capability in global trend analysis, economic and data analysis, improved intercultural communication, an understanding of how common policy problems are being addressed in different countries, and connections with policy leaders and experts from around the world.

The program integrates learning and practical experience with a mix of field visits, workshops, and the intensive Global Policy Project, which provides opportunities for students to engage with policy makers and civil society to address a real-world policy challenge.

English Language Requirements

You only need to take one of these language tests:

  • Minimum required score:

    80

    The TOEFL iBT ® measures your English-language abilities in an academic setting. The test has four sections (reading, listening, speaking, and writing), each with a score range of 0-30, for a total score range of 0-120.

  • Minimum required score:

    550

    The TOEFL®PBT is administered in a paper format and measures your ability to use and understand English in a classroom setting at the college or university level. It accurately measures how well you can listen, read and write in English while performing academic tasks.

  • Minimum required score:

    6

    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00. The minimum IELTS score requirement refers to which Overall Band Score you received, which is your combined average score. Read more about IELTS.

  • A Bachelor's degree with honours or an equivalent qualification; and
  • 5-10 years of public policy work experience
  • A TOEFL IBT score of 100 with no less than a 20 in each section or an IELTS score of 7 with no less than 6 on each band
