The Multimedia Computing Stream focuses on multimedia computing, communications, analytics, visualisation and applications. Multimedia Computing encompasses media coding and processing, streaming-media middleware, media representations, real-time protocols, media analysis, and human-interaction and visualisation techniques. Students are encouraged to develop innovative ideas using the latest development in technology such as mobile devices and big-data analytics.
Full Time (normally takes four semesters of study, and the maximum period is two years, with classes mainly on weekday evenings and Saturdays)
Part Time (normally takes eight semesters of study, and the maximum period of study is three years, with classes mainly on weekday evenings and Saturdays)
Lectures of a few courses may be given during daytime of weekdays to suit mainly full time students. There are two semesters and one summer semester in an academic year.
