Overview
Data science is an interdisciplinary discipline at the border between statistical science and computer science aiming at discovering knowledge from typically large set of data. To achieve this goal, data scientists use statistical methods and machine learning in combination with exploration and optimization algorithms from computer science.
This specialisation provides you thorough knowledge and understanding of the computational aspects of data analysis, including mining of massive datasets, deep learning, network analysis, and text analytics.
Why study the Data Science: Computer Science MSc programme at Leiden University?
- The specialisation is a unique collaboration between Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science and the Mathematical Institute, in collaboration with the Leiden Centre of Data Science.
