About

The Music Department at Northeastern offers a Master of Arts degree in Applied Pedagogy. Pedagogy is defined as the art of teaching. This degree prepares students who already have a bachelor's degree in music for successful 1) college level teaching; 2) in-service elementary and secondary public or private school teaching; or 3) for continuation into doctoral degree work.

The M.A. in Applied Music Pedagogy leads to careers such as a:

    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00. Academic Requirements

  • Official transcripts are required from all colleges and universities attended. Official transcripts and examination scores must be sent electronically or mailed in sealed envelopes from the sending college or institution.
  • The $30 application fee is payable by mail (check or money order), online (debit or credit card) or in person (cash, check, money order, debit or credit card).
  • If you are a Permanent Resident of the United States, provide a clear copy of your Permanent Resident card.
