About

The Advanced Computing programme of the An-Najah National University aims to develop students’ competency from various scientific and engineering majors and produce students who are able to build mathematical models and use them to solve practical problems by computer through conducting special researches that are difficult to be achieved by the ordinary, available ways in Palestine.

Overview

Objectives:

The Advanced Computing programme of the An-Najah National University generally aims to develop students’ knowledge and skills to design and implement scientific experiments and solve engineering problems that have significant impact on economy, environment and community. As a programme specialized in more than one major, it aims to find research and teaching cooperation among other faculties, specializations and universities.

Expected outcomes:

Graduates are expected to:

  • Design and implement a scientific, computerized research related to his/ her major.
  • Design and programme high-performance algorithms to solve problems related to his/ her major.
  • Build computerized models related to his/ her major.

Career Opportunities

Only Students with BA degrees in any scientific or engineering field can join the advanced computing programme. Students get the MA degree after proving their ability in solving a problem related to their major using the mathematical models and their abilities in implementing the problem by the computer. Graduates are expected by default to be able to design mathematical models and use high-performance computing in solving real problems. This makes them experts with multi-specializations that offers them knowledge and skills in the specialization, computer science and mathematics. This also enables them to link the knowledge they get to solve real problems. In addition, it qualifies them to study phenomena that were thought to be insoluble when studied with traditional methods. An advanced computing graduate is expected to get the best job opportunities as the use of computing dramatically increases.
