Overview
Political Science from University of the Punjab has been divided into four semesters. Different courses in four semesters will enrich the knowledge of students. Students would be able to evaluate critically different theoretical aspects of subjects. This programme will enable students to upgrade their knowledge in line with the international standards. The diverse fields of political Science will broaden the knowledge of students. In the last two semesters specialized subjects will be offered as optional courses which will open new avenues of critical thinking for students of this discipline.
Students at Political Science from University of the Punjab will:
- go through various theories related to the functions of various institutions of state.
- develop their ability to make comparative analysis of various approaches and evolve a paradigm which can be best suitable for managing the affairs of their own state.
- polish their administrative capability which can be highly helpful for managing their professional life.
- understand political norms and their role as citizens of state.
- have knowledge about role of political parties in the political system.

General requirements
- BA with Political Science as an elective subject or BA with any one of the following elective subjects: International Relations, Social Work, Journalism, Sociology, Gender Studies, Economics, Geography, History, Philosophy
- Political Science as an elective subject 20 Marks
- Other subjects mentioned above 10 Marks
- Hafiz-e-Qur'an: 20 Marks
- A foreign candidate will apply through his/her Home Country’s Embassy (whose names are recommended by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of Pakistan according to the prescribed procedure).
- Foreign students are exempted from the Entry Test & Admission Application Fee.
