The LLM International Business and Corporate Law at Lancaster University uses the globalised economy as the context for an in-depth study of corporate law. It enables you gain a coherent international and European perspective on corporate and business law, and to examine the strengths and weaknesses of UK corporate law in the global context.

About

Combining core and elective modules, you can explore a wide range of globally and commercially significant issues while developing specialist expertise. The LLM International Business and Corporate Law at Lancaster University  is taught by the research-active academics based in our prestigious Law School and offers you the opportunity to engage with teaching staff who are working at the forefront of international research.

This scheme offers two optional pathways, the programme of which will be confirmed by the student at registration:

  • Studying five modules with a 20,000 word dissertation

  • Studying six modules with a 15,000 word dissertation

Your core modules are Corporations in International Business Law and the LLM Dissertation. The module in Corporations in International Business Law uses the globalised economy as the context for an in-depth study of corporate law. You will have the opportunity to examine the strengths and weaknesses of UK corporate law as judged against international standards. Strong links to practitioners will inform your insights

    PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. Delivered and marked by computer, it reports on a scale between 10 and 90.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: Upper Second Class

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Upper Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

  • Undergraduate Degree: 2:1 (Hons) degree (UK or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline.
  • English Language: IELTS - Overall score of at least 6.5, with no individual element below 5.5
