Teaching children to read is often the key to unlock their minds and their futures. With your Master of Science in Reading from the College of Education at University of Houston Clear Lake, you’ll support classroom teachers in their efforts to help students with their reading skills.

About the program

Your coursework will promote culturally relevant teaching and foster a broad understanding of multiple perspectives through differentiated instruction across curriculum. The Reading program is offered at University of Houston Clear Lake.

To support these efforts, a wide range of literature is used to increase your capacity to think critically, responsively, and reflectively. The required Reading Practicum (a hands-on course) affords the opportunity to work with K-12 students in a clinical setting.
