About

After completing a minimum of 200 clock hours in a summer introductory student teaching component in an assigned school, including a three–course education component and a passing grade on NYSTCE examinations, the candidate may be employed as a teacher and issued a Transitional B certificate. 

The candidate in the Bilingual Childhood Special Education in Inclusive Settings-Alternative Certificate-Transitional B Program at Adelphi University will receive mentoring and additional Master degree courses to complete New York State certification requirements while employed in the school.

    PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. Delivered and marked by computer, it reports on a scale between 10 and 90.

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale.
