Physical Education Initial Licensure from Springfield College is one of the few in the country to offer both a master’s degree as well as initial licensure.


Students enrolled in the Physical Education Initial Licensure program at Springfield College will be prepared to meet the requirements for Massachusetts Teacher Licensure through a variety of comprehensive courses. When combined with program prerequisites, the obtained knowledge and skills enable the candidates in the graduate program to successfully teach physical education in grades PreK-12.


Completion of this program allows graduate students to qualify for initial licensure at both the elementary and secondary levels.
